OUR GOVERNING BODY

Tri-State Dental Hygienists' Society is a non-profit organization comprised of volunteer members in good financial standing who elect officers through a formal process.

BOARD OF TRUSTEES

The Board of Trustees, as prescribed in the By-laws, will be the administrative body of the society, with full power to enact interim policies between meetings of the society, as long as they maintain the objectives of the society.

President - principal representative and spokesperson of TSDHS.

President-Elect - succeeds to the office of President upon expiration of the President's term of office or vacancy.

Vice President - assists the President as requested.

Corresponding Secretary - provides notice of all meetings and serves as an ex-officio member of the Newsletter and Membership Committees.

Recording Secretary - takes and transcribes minutes from all meetings of TSDHS.

Treasurer - custodian of the funds and securities acquired by TSDHS, maintaining complete and accurate records, depositing all funds, disbursing funds as lawfully deemed appropriate, and submitting current financial reports.

Trustees - part of the administrative body of TSDHS.

COMMITTEES

Community Service - responsible for the organization, implementation, and monitoring of volunteer services provided by members of TSDHS.

Continuing Education - responsible for the organization, implementation, and proctorship of continuing education seminars.

Courtesy - responsible for the organization, implementation, and distribution of acknowledgements.

Employment Referral - responsible for confirming employment opportunities with potential employers within the Tri-State area.

Finance - responsible for maintaining the financial integrity of the organization in accordance with the By-laws.

Fund Raising - responsible for the organization, implementation, and proctorship of activities which support the financial goals of TSDHS. (All proceeds benefit the scholarship fund.)

Marketing - responsible for the development of brochures and new strategies to promote the mission of TSDHS.

Membership - responsible for recruiting new members, retaining current members, and calibrating membership status.

Policy / Procedures - responsible for maintaining the ethical integrity of TSDHS.

Scholarship - responsible for the organization of the Savant Scholarship Award Ceremony and the awarding of scholarships.
